What's the best way to place video ads in a game?
Rewarded placements yield significantly higher eCPMs than non-rewarded — users opt into watching an ad in exchange for an in-game reward, which lifts both completion rate and demand willingness to bid.
Strong placement opportunities:
- Game Over / Failure — "Watch to Continue" or "Revive"
- Level Complete — "Double Your Reward"
- Store Entry — "Free Daily Currency" in exchange for a view
- Idle Pauses — Optional bonus content when the player isn't actively playing
When designing the placement, ask:
- What's in it for the player?
- How does this impact player flow?
- Is the incentive scaleable across the player's lifetime?
- Does this protect the game economy?
